London. We stock the latest lines from this season’s ranges
for you to enjoy. Now you are able to shop locally and buy
the best quality labels without the hassle of travelling to
London, and often at lower prices too!
Today The Field is the largest independent Menswear retailer
in Southern England. Our staff have over two hundred years
experience between them in fashion retailing, and are always
on hand to offer impartial advice on the clothes and those
that suit you best.
You will find our shops modern, air conditioned and well lit
so that you can enjoy browsing even if you are not ready to
buy. More are opening all the time, so look out for us in
your town soon!
History
Our first shop opened for business in Reading on St Patrick’s Day, 17 March 1994. Wokingham followed in 1996, Henley and Newbury in 1997, Basingstoke and Staines in 1999 and Ascot, Bath and Windsor in 2002. Negotiations are ongoing and new store openings will be announced soon.
The name was chosen for many reasons including the obvious meaning of the entire entrants in competition such as in a horse race, but the principal one being the very moving movie The Field, starring Richard Harris about Bull McCabe’s field that was his lifetime’s work
.
The Future
We shall continue to open stores across Southern England as and when properties are made available to us. If you know of any suitable properties or any towns where you feel there is a need for a Field shop then we will be delighted to hear from you.
